Academic Achievement:

With more than ten years of teaching experience in elite universities in the United States, Fiona Qian Wang is currently a professor in the English Department of Purdue University, teaching composition courses. She has taught English as Second Language courses including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, which are suitable for students of all ages and levels. Her most recent presentation was in San Diego in April on second language teaching approach as well as demonstrated her student language achievement, which was highly recognized by American scholars and second language educators. My teaching philosophy is to combine language training with practical skills for different examinations, which echoes language learning methods and test-taking skills, so as to stimulate students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning.

who I am?

Hello students, I have been living in the United States for eleven years, currently teaching in the English Department of Purdue University. In my course, I specialize in summarizing knowledge in witty and humorous short sentences to enhance your memorization. In the course, I will also include American culture in the classroom, utiliz and highlight American pronunciation, and focus on interaction in order to create a more effective classroom. My teaching style is well appreciated and applauded by many prior students.

Ph.D. from the University of Toledo, USA, majoring in Curriculum and Instruction, focusing on Teacher Education, classroom management, and instructional design

Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Bilingual Education.
